First off, Engine 1811 has been sold to a company out of Missouri. 1811 served the township for over 20 years and hopefully will continue to serve our fellow brothers in Missouri for years to come.
A special thanks to the Jim Thorpe Fire Dept. for their donation of a thermal imaging camera (TIC) to us. The TIC will be a great asset on the scene of structure fires to locate any hot spots or fire that isn't visible during salvage and overhaul of a structure.
As of June 7th at 0800 hrs., Ambulance 1761 from the Lake Harmony Rescue Squad has been place in service at Dist. 18, also known as LHRS station 2. Having an ambulance on our side of the township will better serve the residents and guests of the township. Our members as well as LHRS staff are excited to be a part of this venture and hope it continues well into the future.
Last note on this update, Squad 18 is nearing completion and we should take delivery sometime in the coming weeks. The members are pleased with the progress so far and are definitely anxious to take delivery. A wetdown and housing ceremony is in the works, more information on that at a later date.
As you can see it's been a great month at Dist. 18 and hopefully more great things are on the horizon. We'd like to thank everyone involved for their support, hard work and dedication for both the purchase of the Squad and for getting the Ambulance at the station.
